Our vocational school has offered two-year degrees since 1999. At that time and since then, we have experienced dramatic changes in our country in the economic and social fields as well as important developments in various sectors which have generated requirements in terms of skilled workers at various levels. To the best of our abilities, our vocational school aims at responding and contributing to these requirements effectively.

In addition, on the one hand we are striving to equip our students with a vocational education, on the other hand to present a fundamental liberal arts attitude and behaviour for them to be more successful at effective human relations in their professional lives.

The following are the 9 programs of the Vocational School in the Social Sciences:

• Radio and Television Technology

Requirements to enroll in the vocational school:

1. Students who are technical college graduates and don’t have an ÖSS score may enter the program via OSYM.
2. Students who are high school graduates and have obtained a minimum ÖSS score (announced annually by the Higher Education Council) may enter the program via OSYM.

Verbal scores in the public relations and advertising program and numerical scores in the rest of the programs are considered in placing students.

Whole courses in two-year vocational school will be given in Selimpasa. It is necessary that students must complete two months of vocational training relative to their programs during the summer recess after taking the first year’s final exams. Selimpasa campus serves in the very modern, completed physical infrastructure, full-equipped facility which is located on the sea side within about 130000 square meters.

Library, computer labs, canteen, dining hall, conference hall and sports grounds are available and in a good condition on Selimpasa Campus to meet students wants and needs.

A Dormitory, which is 10 minutes walk away (approx. 1 kilometer) from campus, at a reasonable price is also available for female students and fully furnished accommodations could be available for male students.

Means of access to campus is provided via service vehicle under an agreement which is served to both sides of Istanbul and its charge will be paid by students. Graduates of vocational school may transfer without exam and contingent to complete four year program from the third year courses at Open University, in the field of economics, business and business administration. This privilege can be used at once after graduation or during the coming years. Graduates of vocational school may also transfer to third year courses of formal faculties to fulfill four year graduation after entering university examination for vocational school students (DGS). Determining factors obtaining this chance from the technical degree to bachelor degree are vocational GPA and DGS score.
